After three days of fierce competition, the first national vocational skills competition has been successfully concluded in Guangzhou on the evening of December 13. The competition was contested by 2,557 players from 36 teams, and a total of 97 players won gold medals in 86 events. The closing ceremony focused on four chapters: "Skills serve the country and create a better life", "Unity of Will, Carry Forward the Spirit of Fighting the Epidemic", "China Has Extraordinary Skills, Walking Out of the Elements", and "Tribute to the New Era and Toward New Glory". As guests of honor, big country craftsmen, labor models, national technical experts, champions of the World Skills Competition, and special representatives from all walks of life in various industries from all over the country presented awards to the gold, silver and bronze medal winners of 86 projects of this competition.

It is understood that more than 630 players were selected for the 46th WorldSkills Competition China Training Team. Through further training, assessment and selection, they will prepare for the 46th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai in 2022, competing on the same stage with players from all over the world.

China is the country with the most complete industrial categories in the world, and the manufacturing industry has a huge demand for skilled personnel. It is understood that there are more than 170 million skilled talents in China, and from 2016 to 2019, the cumulative number of new high-skilled talents in the country exceeded 10 million. With the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security will hold a national vocational skills competition from 2020.

The second National Vocational Skills Competition will be held in Tianjin, and at the closing ceremony, Tianjin Mayor Liao Guoxun received the flag of the competition on behalf of Tianjin.
